These ‘celebrate the lost pubs of Slindon’ – and at present we have two;
‘Newburgh Arms Bitter’ named after the pub which was converted into a house in 2008, and ‘Dog & Partridge Golden Ale’ – named after a notorious smugglers pub on Slindon Common which closed in about 1800.
We’ll post more about the history of these pubs very soon.
Hand made chocolates
What is life without chocolate? Our pralines are hand made for us in West Sussex by chocolatier Johan Vandevelde. There is a mix of dark and milk chocolates and each one is decorated with simple outline of a blacksmiths anvil.
The Forge Cafe Coffee: Our very own blend of coffee, created for us by Richard Janz, artisan coffee blender and roaster and general coffee nut-case, at Coffee Compass.
At the rather unlikely base in Littlehampton, Richard has an amazing stash of the worlds finest coffee beans (he’s visited most of the plantations personally). He created our blend from a selected Columbian (to give strength and richness) and two types of Brazillian (to give higher, nuttier flavours).
You can enjoy the coffee in the cafe – and in the shop you can buy the same blend as either beans or ready-ground.
